The Photos You Wish You Had Taken On Holiday
With the 2016 Travel Photographer of the Year awards accepting entries up until 1st October 2016, one can’t help envisage views of the almost endless horizon in Arizona, a colourful street in Mumbai or cascading waterfalls tumbling down to the bottom of a lush Vietnamese valley. The awards celebrate the best images from around the world taken by travellers and feature exotic landscapes, animals and people.
The competition runs annually and this year’s category themes vary from ‘Journeys & Adventures‘, to ‘Travel Shorts’ which is the category for HD Video taken on a stills camera. Through September 4th, images from previous years’ entries will feature at an exhibition in London at the University of Greenwich.
The images featured below are from the 2015 awards and include Australian Mitchell Kanashkevichs shot of a woman with pumpkins taken in Maramures, Romania as well as James Morgan’s image of a hunter in the remote Yakutia region in Russia.
The photographs here may inspire holiday makers to spend a little more time looking through the lens the next time they take a trip abroad.
